Hi, I am the Rune Guy Gamer and I have recently got back into wargaming after more than a decade. Years ago, I was an avid Imperial Guard general, collecting my way through Games Workshop miniatures. Now, I would like to explore the world of wargames again. I have a particular interest in Bolt Action and Pike And Shotte by Warlord Games, Tanks by Gale Force Nine and Frostgrave by Osprey, though I have been eyeing up Flintloque and the recent eighth edition of Warhammer 40k - Astra Militarum of course.

With this blog, I intend to write posts about unboxing my orders, battle reports, reviews of products and rules systems and progress with my painting. I'm not brilliant at painting at the moment, but I hope you will enjoy seeing how I progress and be able to take hope from how even the most dunder-headed of beginners can improve.

The Rune Guy Gamer

Hi, I'm the Rune Guy Gamer and in my early thirties I decided to pick up the paint brushes and dice again to restart my interest in wargaming that started in my preteens with Games Workshop's Imperial Guard for 40k. With this blog, I would like to show you my progress from the very beginning as I learn to paint models again and then take them to war on the flock grass.

I will be putting up photos of my painting as I take the journey from beginner to, well, anything better than beginner. I'll also be putting up reviews of products and rules systems, battle reports, recommendations and sundry other posts of interest.

I am particularly interested in Warlord Games's Bolt Action and Pike and Shotte, Gale Force Nine's Tanks, Blood and Plunder and Frostgrave by Osprey but I have also been eyeing up the Astra Militarum again for Warhammer 40k as well as Flintloque.
